Comfort Suites University at 1902 East Overland Trail, Abilene, Texas.

In my very limited interactions with the hotel staff, they were courteous and professional. My only complaints are about the furnishings and amenities of our room. We stayed in the "Presidential Suite", a 2 bedroom/1 bath suite, which was quite large, definitely large enough for 6-8 people to stay comfortably. However, in the living room area there was only one rather poor sofa, therefore room for only 3 people to sit, and only 2 to sit comfortably. We had to pull chairs over from the dining room area to watch a movie together, which was not a very comfortable arrangement at all. The bathroom was enormous and had a very nice looking, very large jetted tub (which we did not use). Then, in a space that would accommodate something much larger, there was a comically small shower stall. I've seen bigger showers in an RV. And the shelf in the shower was not big enough to even fit the complimentary shampoo and conditioner bottles. It was just bizarre. My last complaint is about the temperature control in the room. Each room had a separate thermostat, but they were set on a program which we were not able to adjust. And I think only the king bedroom had an option for heating. I doubt the one unit in there would be enough to heat the entire suite. Overall, our stay was a positive one, but this suite needs some adjustments to make it more comfortable. I think the ownership should stay overnight in this suite with enough people to fill each bed, and see how the accommodations work for them.
